We believe in more than just classroom instruction.
That’s why we create opportunities for our students to achieve their personal and academic best by regularly encouraging and supporting them to participate in competitions.

Why are competitions so important?

Boosting self-confidence: Every success builds children’s and teenagers’ self-confidence in a lasting way.
Fun and creativity: Challenges stimulate unconventional thinking and make academic subjects even more engaging.
Team spirit and competitiveness: Solving problems together brings students closer and prepares them for future challenges.

“Bolyai” Mathematics Competition: Where Math Talents Come Together

Our schools actively promote these valuable experiences. A successful example of this is the “Bolyai” International Team Mathematics Competition. Named after the Hungarian mathematicians János and Farkas Bolyai, it is open to students in grades 3 through 13. Teams of two to four members tackle challenging math problems, with a focus on collaboration and collective thinking.

Phorms Students Shine

Children and teenagers from our schools regularly participate in the “Bolyai” Math Competition, and the results from January of this year are impressive:

• In Munich, Phorms students secured first place among nearly 260 participating high schools from Bavaria and Thuringia.
• A Year 10 student from Berlin Mitte took first place nationwide with a mixed-gender team.
• Another team of three from the Berlin Mitte campus took third place in the capital’s regional competition.

We congratulate these brilliant math minds and their supportive teachers on these outstanding achievements!
