Your Responsibilities

In this role, you will help shape the school library into a vibrant and inspiring learning environment. You will support teachers in their daily work and strengthen pupils’ research, media literacy and reading skills. With strong organisational abilities, a passion for education and creative ideas, you will contribute to an engaging library culture and an attractive learning space.

  • Managing and organising the daily operation of the library as a welcoming and service-oriented point of contact for pupils and teachers

  • Supporting pupils with project work, presentations and seminar papers

  • Planning and delivering workshops on research skills, citation methods and source evaluation

  • Promoting language development and reading engagement through targeted learning programmes

  • Managing and maintaining the media collection, including cataloguing, inventory management and presentation

  • Organising the school textbook lending service and ensuring a current, diverse and high-quality range of resources

  • Designing and continuously developing an inviting and stimulating library environment

  • Planning and implementing reading initiatives and activities to strengthen the school’s culture of reading

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, ideally in Library, Information or Media Studies, or a teaching qualification in German or English
  • Ideally, experience as a tutor or student assistant at university level, as well as initial experience teaching academic working methods
  • A genuine enthusiasm for working with children and young people
  • Excellent German and English language skills (C1/C2 level)
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Confidence in using digital media and research tools
  • Creativity and a strong aesthetic sense for designing engaging learning spaces

  • How can I apply and what documents should I include with my application?

    The easiest way to apply is directly through our careers page. Simply click the “Apply Now” button for the job advertisement that interests you and fill out the form.
