Year 2's Fight against the Leaf-Miner Moths

Date:
Campus Berlin Süd

On Thursday, 3rd November 2016 the whole of Year 2 travelled to Elfiewiese off the Teltower Damm. Our goal was to rake as many leaves as possible. The leaves are where the larvae of the Leaf-Miner Moth hide over the winter, so removing as many leaves as possible means that in spring fewer Leaf-Miner Moths hatch and can eat the chestnut leaves. The children worked hard for 2 full hours and were rewarded with time on the playground. Great job Year 2!
