On Social Day, we (Grade 8b) visited the DLRG Station Wendenschloßstraße. At 7:45 we met as a class at S-Bahnhof Zehlendorf to start our one hour ride to the station. The ride was definitely worth it. When we arrived at the station we first got a nice welcome and a quick explanation of what we will help them with on the day. After that, we got divided into two different groups. Group Alpha needed to get rid of the leaves in the garden and clean the entrance to the station. Meanwhile, group Beta got a little presentation about the DLRG and they also provided group Beta with some life-saving CPR skills. After a quick break time, where we could eat our lunches, the two groups swapped but instead of cleaning the garden, group Beta cleaned some speedboats and provided basic maintenace. In general, the Social Day was lots of fun and we had a great time together as a class.
