In 1S we have been looking at the book: ‘Ruby’s Worry’. Ruby loves being Ruby. Until, one day, she finds a worry. At first, it's not such a big worry, and that's all right, but then it starts to grow. It gets bigger and bigger every day and it makes Ruby sad. How can Ruby get rid of it and feel like herself again?
All of our English lessons have been based on this book, looking at Ruby’s feelings and actions. The children have made a prediction, carried out role play, sequenced the story and retold the story.
Most children started the year with limited English knowledge. Look at how much they can now write in such a short time!
