Phorms returns to UNHQ: 9 Students, 2 Teachers, and 1 Big Apple!

On Tuesday, 1 March 2016, Phorms Berlin was honored to send a delegation to the United Nations in New York City.  We attended a two day student-led conference based on the influence of social media and the value of independent journalism hosted by the UN International School.  Guest speakers included the head of UNICEF, a founding member of Vice News, an editor from the NY Times, and YouTube Activist, Casey Neistat.  The venue for this amazing event was the actual General Assembly Hall inside the UN headquarters where we were engaged for two days of heated discussion on the (ir)relevance of social media in society.  Beyond the UN, we discovered the diverse vibe of the five boroughs, touring museums, Central Park, Time Square, the 9/11 Memorial, and more!  From The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway to navigating the city´s streets and subways by night, it was an experience we´ll never forget.  We are particularly grateful to our welcoming host families, and look forward to continued friendships across the pond.
