On Friday, 21.10.16, all year 4 classes visited a special concert of the series "Klassik zum Staunen" performed by the Münchner Rundfunkorchester at the Funkhaus of the Bayerische Rundfunk. The music presented were excerpts from Felix Mendelssohn's incidental music for Shakespeare's Midsummer Nights Dream.
Before the event, the year 4 students were prepared well by their English and music teacher and learned about Shakespeare and Mendelssohn. Students were delighted to find a splendid actor on stage with the orchestra who had the talent to embody all different roles of the Shakespearean play. With his presence, the music being played became connected to the imaginative Midsummer Night Dream story and their characters. The show was well received by the students and well-suited for this young audience.
